DRAFT DAY: THIS SATURDAY

We have our online draft tomorrow, Saturday (August 28, 2021) at 3:00 p.m.. Our league link: https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/sackpackffl This is an online draft. Thirty minutes before the draft start time, you'll be able to enter the draft screen. It is highly recommended that you do this from the web browser app, but it is perfectly doable from a mobile device as well. Once your draft spot becomes available to select a player, you will be able to do so. If you do not select a player in the designated time, your player will be autodrafted for you by the Yahoo! app. If you would like more info on how this works, you can watch this youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBvHd-9Qt24  Draft order: Regis Island Astrocats Oakland Vaders Go Birds Dark Order Amazons Snootchie Boochies Backus to the Future RG3POs -- currently listed as mitch's Team in the app Fighting Fistula Scumbags -- currently listed as Aaron's Choice Team in the app Shady Bradys As you...

Draft Day Details

OMG, if you really need this reminder, I'm... well, honestly I'm not surprised. DRAFT DAY IS SATURDAY, AUGUST 28 at 3PM ET. Please pay your $28.33 League Fee to the Commissioner as soon as possible. You can pay whenever you see the Commish or via PayPal. If you pay via PayPal, you're welcome to pay the exact amount. If you pay cash in person and you don't bring exact change, the Commissioner will be doing the best she can because she doesn't really keep cash on her at any time. We're using the Yahoo! online draft system again this year. The NFL season begins on 9/9/2021 and ends on 1/9/2022. The league expanded the regular season to 17 games. Our regular fantasy season is 14 weeks this season. Our playoffs will be week 15, 16, and 17. We will not play week 18. Week 18 is the new week 17. If you haven't already, be sure to let the Commissioner know your preferred draft order option based on the virtual rubber ducky race results before the draft.

Say No to the Veto

We don't get many trades in our league, and we also don't utilize the veto option. The two common ways to deal with trades are to either have the Commissioner approve all of them or have the league vote on every one. Both seem kinda unnecessary to me. We're all adults. If you want to agree to a trade with another adult in the league, then that's your business. If we ever have a situation where collusion is occurring, then that will be the last Sack Pack season for both parties and they wouldn't be receiving any awards. We'd discuss that situation as a league and be done with it. This video snippet enlightened me on how unnecessary trade vetoes are within the league. Trades within Sack Pack will not be subject to vetoes and will be instant upon agreement by the parties involved.

Updated Coach Corners

League Coaches (aka Members, Managers, Owners, etc.) have a more robust profile page on the site. Along with coach names, teams, and terms, a more complete award history has been added for each person. Just more easily accessible info for the bragging.

Money, It's a Gas

With the recent announcements of the multiple new awards for the 2021 season that offer cash prizes, you might be curious as to where those funds are coming from. It's coming from you, the members of the league. But don't worry, we'll still maintain the low-rent risk you've come to expect from the Sack Pack. The League Budget has been placed on a spreadsheet and linked on our website for transparency. We will retain the traditional place-prizes as such: 4th: $20 3rd: $40 2nd: $60 1st: $100 We're adding in a $20 prize for the Juggernaut award. We're adding $5 per winner for Rivalry Week for a total of $30. We're adding $5 per winner for Weekly Winners for a total of $70. This creates a total needed pool of $340 to come from league fees. In a 12 person league, that breaks down to $28.33 per person, which is still a very reasonable league fee for a friendly low-stakes league. This also creates a chance for more people to win back part of their fees, and has (v...

The Juggernaut

We're a Head-to-Head league but only the coaches who play vs everyone every week will win The Juggernaut at The Sack Pack Awards. Four times in our 5 season league history, the highest season point earners in our league were unable to lay claim to the Championship (2016, 2017, 2018, & 2020). Starting in the upcoming season, the total highest point earner for the season will claim The Juggernaut award and $20 added to their season winnings. We acknowledge the unsung Juggernauts of Sack Packs past: 2016: Shannon (1,332.54) 2017: Kozuh (1,319.06) 2018: Shannon (1,410.28) 2020: Ropac (1,468.50) Cash awards are not retroactive.
